The City of Farmington is committed to providing and resourcing reliable and efficient utility services to support our community’s needs. Below is an overview of the utilities that are available in Farmington.
Illinois American Water has provided the City of Farmington with water service since 2018
Customers wanting more information on alerts, billing and payment information, water quality, and customer assistance programs can visit www.illinoisamwater.com or call 1-800-422-2782.
Sewer service for the City is provided by the Farmington Sanitary District and arrangements for new sewer service can be made by contacting the City of Farmington at 309-245-2011 or filling out the sheet below and returning to the office.
Our waste management services are contracted through Farmington. Billing for these services is included on the sewer bills that are sent out by the city. If you have any questions about your toter (such as replacement, size, or collection issues), please contact Waste Management directly at 1-800-964-8988. Below is sheet of prompts to help with the phone call.

Fluorescent light bulbs and dry cell batteries can be brought into the office in room #101. Please have all batteries taped up on the end.
Prescriptions and sharps can be dropped off in the disposal box at the entrance of the city building. New sharp containers can be picked up in the hallway.

The city has been working hard to get fillable forms up and running for the convivence of our residents. To fill these out please use a computer or a tablet device. Some forms and permit applications require a fee, through the website, Epay is available. Any questions about this service? Please call the city building and we can assist you.
The city has started its own Facebook page, so residents are able to receive the correct information from the source itself. If you are interested in following this page it is, City of Farmington, IL.
As the trees are throwing leaves, our public works will run an annual weeklong program where residents are able to push leaves to the terrace and the leaf truck will pick them up.
This year pick up is tentatively the first two weeks in November. See Facebook for more details.
