Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.cityoffarmingtonil.com/.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Contact forms
If you fill out a contact form, such as that on our Contact Us page, you will be required to provide your full name, email address, and phone number. This will only be used to follow up with you regarding the contents you provided in the form. This information is not stored on our internal servers. Instead, when you fill out a contact form, an email is generated using what you wrote and is sent to us.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
We use several third-party plugins that utilize cookies to enhance your user experience. An example would be our notification bar — it uses cookies to remember that you closed the notification and keep it closed. These cookies contain no personal data.
We use several Google Services that store cookies on your computer. Please see below for additional information.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Google Services & Analytics
We utilize several Google-provided services on this website, including Google Analytics, Google Maps, Google Search Console, and Google PageSpeed Insights. To learn more about how Google collects and processes your data, please visit: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites/
Who we share your data with
Data collected by third parties on our website are shared with those third parties. Where they share that information is dependent on the third party’s privacy policy. For Google Services, please see above. For embedded content from other websites, you should be able to access the other website and read their respective privacy policies from there.
For information that we collect directly, such as with contact forms, we will not share it with any third party entities. The only exception would be if the information was lawfully requested by law enforcement or another government entity with which we are required to share information upon request.
How long we retain your data
Information provided to us via contact forms is retained indefinitely, though that information is not hosted within our internal servers. This information is kept for record and clerical purposes. Information from your submitted contact forms may or may not be deleted in the future.
What rights you have over your data
If you have filled out a contact form, you can request that we send you a copy of your responses. By default, you should receive a copy of your responses to the email address you provided. It is possible that your responses are no longer on record, and we will be unable to provide you with a copy. You can request that we delete any personal information we have recorded about you, though this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Data collected by third parties is sent to those third parties. Data we collect is not sent to anyone outside the City of Farmington staff, unless otherwise required by law.
